It is a false alarm really!

I just spent some time reading through the specifications of the patent. In a nutshell, it is about people who want to protect their images (trademarks, videos, photos, logos etc) so that it cannot be faked. Remember that IANAL, but looking at the specification as filed, it does not apply to those of us who just put a link info around an image that does not need to be verified.

In all honesty, I think this is a silly patent anyway – no one is going to pay anyone any money to authenticate an image/video/logo/trademark/etc. On the Internet, it is buyer beware.

Again, IANAL, but act like one on blogs.
