I think Downing Street is way ahead in their thinking (and they should be). The e-government initiatives of the Singapore government are highly commendable, but in the area of public consultation, I think the filtering process throught the REACH is probably insufficient. About the only site that I feel has been effective is the Cut Waste Panel which responded to my feedback and did something. But this suggestion to use Open Office etc in schools has not progressed far.
As a side distraction, see how the REACH site even says “Best viewed on IE 6.0” in it’s footer. I did REACH out to them to change it some time ago, and has not gotten any reply yet.
